Red Lake Emergency Isolation Centre

Purpose

As a measure to help prevent the spread of the Novel Coronavirus Covid-19, The Kenora District Services Board and Red Lake Margaret Cochenour Memorial Hospital opened the Red Lake COVID-19 Isolation Centre on June 18, 2020.

 

The Centre provides a safe space for possible or confirmed positive cases of COVID-19, and their close contacts, who have no other available means to self-isolate safely on their own.

 

Partnership:

 

The Centre is a collaborative effort of community partners, including the Municipality of Red Lake, Red Lake Employment Office Ontario Provincial Police, Red Lake Indian Friendship Centre, Red Lake Area Emergency Shelter, New Starts Women’s Shelter, Northwest Health Unit, the Red Lake Family Health Team, AND Community Counselling and Addiction Services.


 

How to access the Centre:

  • Individuals who require to self-isolate due to Covid19 and do not have a place do it safely, should contact the Red Lake COVID-19 Assessment Centre at 807 -727-7035 for evaluation and testing, Public Health’s COVID-19 hotline at 1-866 -468-2240, or their Primary Care Provider, any of those agencies may refer to the Isolation Centre.
  • Individuals who need to self-isolate due to Covid19 can also self-refer by contacting the Isolation Centre directly.
