Red Lake Dental Clinic Infection Prevention and Control (IPAC) Lapse

As explained in a recent Northwestern Health Unit social media post, an investigation of the Red Lake Dental Clinic’s infection prevention and control methods were conducted. A determination was made that cleaning and sterilization measures did not meet acceptable standards.  Out of caution, they are recommending blood testing for all patients, as a low risk of infection cannot be ruled out. If you received care at the Red Lake Dental Clinic between the dates of Sep 1, 2022 and May 16, 2025, please do the following:

 

- Contact the Red Lake Medical Clinic at 727-2617 for a lab requisition.  

 

- The NWHU will be available all this week (Aug 19-22) for testing, so once you have obtained your requisition, please call 727-2626 to book an appointment.

 

-The Red Lake Hospital will post additional walk-in testing dates for anyone unable to get in this week.  Details to follow.  Calling or texting the laboratory before these details are released is not required.
