For people living in rural, remote and under-served communities, unique barriers to access healthcare exist. Through Hope Air, patients in financial need are provided with free airline, hotel, meals and airport ground transportation – when travelling far from home. This year is a special year for Hope Air. Founded in 1986 Hope Air is proud to celebrate 40 years. Over the past four decades, the organization has provided more than 277,000 travel arrangements for over 106,000 patients and their escorts living in more than 700 communities across Canada—ensuring that distance and cost are never the reason someone misses critical medical treatment.
