Visitor Restrictions Update

Effective today, the hospital is restricting visitation to essential care partners only. Essential care partners are defined as an individual selected by the patient in collaboration with the health care team, who provides essential assistance with care needs, such as mobility aid or communication support. There are other categories of patients who are offered visitation in addition to this including pediatric patients up to 18 years of age, patients in labour, patients at end of life, and critically ill patients, please speak to hospital administration or the Nursing department after hours, for specific visitation procedures for these categories. All other visitors are asked to refrain from presenting to the hospital. We understand that these restrictions can be upsetting and challenging. Thank you for your continued understanding as we protect our patients, staff, and community against COVID 19. It is important to note, that these restrictions may change in relation to the COVID 19 activity within our community and region. We will continue to closely monitor transmission rates and will communicate updates and changes as the situation evolves.
